Together and Different
He looked at the time and put down his pen. It was only a few hours till his brokers meeting. He took out his ear piece from the drawer and placed it in his case. He’d prefer to wear it in the car. After the war, everyone seems to be at edge, so its best to put them on in the car when he gets to what they call now, the common room.
Before the meeting Oda went to the café to pour himself some Sidama coffee.
” You know too much caffeine is bad for you’’ said a voice behind him. It was Shewit from district Tigray.
” I personally don’t need coffee to wake up” she continued. “We don’t all have your strength” Oda replied.
These meeting seemed dull to Oda. He cherished the moments he had with her, the small talks and random jokes. No one really joked after the war, it was all plain conversations unless, of course, they were from the same district.
“Oh, stop it you flatter me; you know you’re the only one that talks to me in friendly way. One look at this and every one change the conversation to the big sale my district made last week, the one on the southern deal” she explained while bracing the screen on the banner.
